There's been no new picures posted lately because fishing has been pretty slow. Yes, even the Southbound has slow days sometimes, I know it's hard to believe !!

Fishing was a bit better today, still slow offshore, but the Permit bit well.

Plenty permit today !!

We caught and released about 40, all on 10 & 12 lb. spinning tackle

Sailfish didn't bite today and neither did the amberjacks..............
But the permit did !!!

We caught over 25 fish on 8lb, 12lb. and fly

I've known this guy since we were Cub Scouts,(about 150 yrs ago)
He caught  a permit on fly on his very first try !!

Tired from a great day of fishing !!!

This 69 lb. Amberjack is the largest I've had caught aboard the Southbound !!

This one was around 50 lbs, but that's still plenty large enough to make your arms tired !!

Rough Weather - no trip today

Strange day today, we almost cut the day short because of bad weather.
A large squall passed over Key West late in the morning.
Lots of rain and lightning and a couple of monster water spouts like the one pictured below.
If you don't know what a waterspout is, it's a tornado of water.

Well, we weathered the storm  and the day ended up sunny and calm and we finished  with 2 Sailfish !!! We're glad we stayed.

Beautiful day, but fishing was a bit slower.
Saw 3 sailfish, but only caught one

Great day of fishing, but I forgot the camera.
We hooked 7 and landed 4 again

Today was a great day of fishing, but  a bad day for pictures.
We hooked 11 sailfish and landed 6 but it was a bit rough and I only got 1 good picture.
