Very Tough day today!

National Weather Service was calling for strong winds today but It was very nice when we left the dock. Seas were less than 1 ft as I cleared the harbor, but the winds picked up as we headed toward the reef. By the time we started fishing, the seas were 4 ft and building.
By the end of the day, the wind was blowing close to 30kts and seas were a steady 6-8 ft with a 10ft’er every once in a while. What we call Really, Really “Sporty” conditions. I would not have minded it the fishing was good, but it was not. The water got very cloudy from the turbulence and not much was biting. We managed to get some very nice Barracudas off one of the wrecks we fished and lost a few other fish.

Both of these guys can safely say they don’t get seasick. They hung tough and we have another trip planned tomorrow if the weather lets us.
