Much Better Day Today
We snapper fished
Caught our limit on Yellow Tail Snapper and some assorted bottom fish!
Sept 15th, 2012
Very slow today
Had a Blue Marlin come up and look at the baits but didn’t hit anything,
lost a barracuda and a few small dolphin
Caught two very small tuna. Normally we would have let them go, but we
kept them to use them for bait on the wreck, but ran out of time before we got the chance
We did find this sailboat adrift about 17 miles SE of Key West. It had been de-masted and there were no signs of life. I called it in to the Coast Guard and gave them the location. The east current was very strong so I had my doubts if they or any one else would be able to find it. I put it on Face book on the way in. By the time I got out of the shower, I had the phone # of the owner. The boat had broken loose during TS Isaac and he had a friend headed out to try to recover it. Unfortunately I was not the first one to find it. Some had broken in and stolen what they could. I got a text from the owner the next day. The boat had been recovered near Tavernier. Probably 80 – 90 miles away.

Half Day Today
And the Yellow Tails were biting!
We had a little “trouble” with Barracudas and Sharks
eating our fish off the hook, (they love Yellow Tail too)
We caught and released this one, but I’m betting that
big fat belly is full of Yellow Tails he stole
These big teeth will cut a snapper in half like a knife!
But the Yellow Tail Snapper kept biting!
Delicious Yellow Tails Snapper
