Charter Details & FAQs
What is included on the deep sea fishing charter?
On all trips, all bait, tackle, and licenses are included in the cost of the charter. The Southbound includes a cooler and ice for customers to use to keep their food and drinks cold and an enclosed restroom on board. We can carry groups of up to 6 people. You can choose to book a private charter to have the whole boat for your group, or book a split charter to join an existing group.
What kind of fish will we catch off the coast of Key West?
A typical day of fishing can be offshore looking for big game fish such as Sailfish, Wahoo, Black Fin Tuna, Bonito, Mahi and Barracuda or on the reef, fishing for Grouper, Snapper, Mackerel, Kingfish, Barracuda and Jacks.
What are the trip lengths?
We offer 4, 6, and 8 hr charters. All trips times are from dock to dock, leaving from our slip in the Charter Boat Row at 1801 N. Roosevelt Blvd. Travel time to the fishing grounds is approximately 45-60 minutes.
Am I guaranteed to catch a fish?
All trips are fishing trips, but nothing is guaranteed. If something is not working or an area is not producing, I am more than willing to change gameplans or move to another area as time allows.
Can we keep all of the fish we catch?
Yes! You keep what you catch. The mate will fillet and bag them. There is no extra charge for this service.
Is there a minimum age?
No, but while children are welcome, a boat on the water will rock back and forth. Any children must have enough motor coordination to protect themselves from a fall. Usually, by 4-5 years of age, they are good.
Is there a restroom on board?
The Southbound has an electric toilet in an enclosed restroom in the forward section of the boat.
What are the fishing charter policies?
TIPPING: On all trips, it is customary to tip the first mate. 20% is standard.
CANCELLATIONS: My cancellation policy is minimum 72 hrs notice or the full amount of the charter will be charged to the credit card on fille. In case of inclement weather, if it is blowing 20mph or greater a customer may cancel without penalty
