We fished the Atlantic Side today
It was a good move. We’ve been in the Gulf of Mexico the last couple of days because the wind was out of the South and the Gulf was the calmer water. Fishing was good and we caught and released some big sharks as well as catching some nice snapper for dinner. Today the wind was back out of the North so the Atlantic was the calm side of the world for us. I’m glad it was because the Big King Mackerel were biting today and I wouldn’t be happy if we had missed it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_mackerel
The biggest King Mackerel we got was about 28 lbs. A really nice fish!
We did not get our limit on Kingfish, but to be honest, My customers didn’t want any more. So we left the kingfish and went looking for other fish. We ended up getting some nice Cero Mackerel. They are a smaller cousin of the King Mackerel. In my opinion, they are better eating anyway. We also got a couple of nice Mutton Snapper. All in all a good day
